Introduction

Getting Started · RKX API Studio 1.0.0

#What you can build

RKX API Studio is a visual WordPress REST endpoint builder for developers and site owners connecting WordPress content to frontends, mobile applications or integrations. Free creates GET endpoints from posts, pages, custom post types and taxonomies. Your content stays in WordPress; the plugin selects and formats the response fields.

#Create an endpoint

After installation, open RKX API Studio → All Endpoints → Create Endpoint. Choose GET, enter a name such as Articles and a slug such as articles, then select Posts. Slugs cannot be changed after creation; create a separate endpoint if you need a different URL.

#Choose fields and save

Start with one public test post and a small response. The screenshot shows four selected fields.

  1. Open All Endpoints → Create Endpoint.
  2. Enter a name and a unique slug, keep GET selected and choose Posts.
  3. Add only the core fields needed by your application.
  4. Review the JSON sample and save the endpoint.
  5. Request its saved URL; then configure API-key protection if the integration needs it.
Actual field selection, captured with Pro active. These core fields and the output zone are also available in Free.

#Start with public test content

Use a published, unpassworded test post. Leave protection off only when the selected fields are intended to be public. For private integrations, generate an API key in Settings → Security and enable Require API Key before sharing the URL.
