Field Mapping

Free Features · RKX API Studio 1.0.0

Build the output selection

Output selection is shared by Free and Pro. ACF-specific discovery is a separate Pro capability.

  1. Choose your source before mapping fields.
  2. Add ID and Title from Available Fields.
  3. Add any other required core fields to the Active Output Zone.
  4. Remove unused fields and inspect the preview.
  5. Save, then test the actual endpoint response.
Actual field selection, captured with Pro active. These core fields and the output zone are also available in Free.

Map custom metadata

Use Custom Meta Field and provide the exact key. Internally meta:key resolves post or term metadata and uses the metadata key in output. It does not create metadata. A missing value can be empty; check the underlying content before assuming a mapping error.

Format text fields

Built-in text formatting is available in Free. Pro adds structured blocks and regex; those are separate controls.

  1. Open the formatting controls for a selected output field.
  2. Choose supported built-in text transforms such as strip HTML, normalize whitespace, case conversion or date formatting.
  3. Review their order, save and inspect the actual endpoint response. Non-string values are left unchanged by built-in text transforms.

Review data exposure

Custom metadata can contain private values. Administrator access to a field does not make it appropriate for public delivery. Check the actual saved response with and without credentials. ACF-specific discovery and nested mapping require Pro and ACF.
